Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Brainstorm and prototype new software features by building smaller incomplete mockups that illustrate and convey the idea, individually or in collaboration with other team members, pitch ideas to management. Create design specifications for software features that include written descriptions and visual diagrams to communicate clearly to others. Participate in the design process with other team members as well as with engineers on other teams including imagining new ideas to solve problems or providing guidance to less experienced engineers. Design software algorithms to implement designed features using industry approved design patterns that take into account code performance to execute on the limited resources of mobile devices. Implement entire features individually with minimal leadership or in collaboration with other team members using the Objective-C, C++, and Swift languages and Xcode development environment. Debug and fix bugs in software, including identifying errors in software code and providing correctives, finding optimizations in code performance through code introspection and performance measurement tools such as sampling, and diagnosing/resolving customer-reported issues. Design, develop and test software and processes to exercise code using Objective-C and Swift and XCTest. Collaborate cross-functionally with other team members around design, implementation and debugging of software feature, including programming and diagnosing problems together at a single computer in person or virtually with screen sharing technology. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $226,158 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s* degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. *Employer will accept a 3 or 4 year Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent.

  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:

  • Object Oriented software development for building modern, scalable software.

  • Using C++, Objective C, Python, Shell, or other equivalent high level OO language for building applications for software platforms.

  • Software design for architecting the new features to be built.

  • User Interface Design for developing the application interfaces when building new features.

  • Using Xcode or similar software engineering project development suites for writing and debugging code daily.

  • Software performance analysis using sampling and other Instruments like tools for optimizing code performance for hardware.

  • API (Application Programming Interface) design for developing the necessary interfaces for other teams and developers to interact with new software features.

  • Identifying high-quality software animations and proposing new behaviors as a part of the design and development iteration process.

  • Test Suite and Internal Infrastructure Development to build the quality and assurance plans for delivering high-quality software features.

  • Debugging and diagnosing to resolve customer-reported issues including understanding the customer report and feedback and investigating many software projects to find a solution.
