DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Documentation Controller to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC.
Job Summary:
Supports the product requirements and product change management processes in order to ensure that specification documents (e.g. drawing, structure, standards and software) are clear, concise and valid across the organization. Works under moderate supervision.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Data Integration: By analyzing and processing data into appropriate systems, you will ensure seamless integration across engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and services, enhancing overall efficiency.
• Document Management: Your role in releasing and maintaining Cummins product specification documents will ensure that all stakeholders have access to accurate and up-to-date information, facilitating better decision-making.
• Product Development Input: Providing input into the development of product requirements and standards will help shape the future of Cummins products, ensuring they meet market needs and regulatory standards.
• Auditing Standards: Applying Product Release standards for auditing purposes will ensure that product requirements are clear, concise, and valid, maintaining high-quality standards throughout the change management process.
• Change Management Compliance: Participating in and executing the product specification change management process will ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies, minimizing risks and errors.
• Continuous Improvement: Engaging in basic improvement projects linked to product requirements and change management processes will drive continuous improvement, enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: By working across various departments (engineering, marketing, services, and manufacturing), you will foster collaboration and communication, leading to more cohesive and integrated product development.
• Innovation and Standards: Your contributions to documenting product specifications and developing relevant standards will support innovation while maintaining consistency and reliability in Cummins products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Technical Proficiency:
Data Acquisition: Ensure samples are prepared accurately, equipment is calibrated correctly, and tests are performed according to approved procedures. This guarantees reliable data for engineers and customers.
Data Reporting: Organize and present testing methods, instrument settings, data, and analysis clearly. This helps engineers and customers understand results and make informed decisions.
• Product Configuration and Change Management:
- Establish and maintain the integrity of product artifact baselines. Track, control, and communicate changes from concept to obsolescence, ensuring smooth transitions and updates.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
• High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience is required.

Experience:
• Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in documentation and control, engineering discipline or related field.
Compensation (for United States)
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The
final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s
qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Processes temporary changes to Product Bill of Material to protect engine build schedules
• Solves engine assembly problems in real time to ensure delivery of product to customers, directly impacting customer satisfaction.
• Utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD) and data management tools to investigate product fitment issues.
• Collaborates with other Engineering and Quality teams to ensure safe implementation of temporary and permanent solutions.
• Ensures application of company, industry, national, and international standards to protect quality and throughput targets for engine production.
• Processes internal Engineering work requests.
• Engages with required functional areas as needed.
This 100% onsite role requires achieving proficiency with multiple software environments that are unique to Cummins such as IMS, ORACLE, and CMES, plus MicroSoft applications, Sharepoint, Windchill, Creo (3D modeling), and other third party software.
