Job Description

The Director, International Strategic Pricing, Immunology Lead is responsible for leading a team of Associate Directors to effectively manage pricing governance for on-market Immunology assets, ensuring the translation of asset value into optimal pricing & contracting guidance and, when necessary, developing sustainable access models. This role shapes the price potential of pipeline assets through the use of strategic pricing frameworks and advanced modeling tools to support launches and scenario analysis. As a key member of the Value & Access Teams, they coach their team to influence access strategies, payer value propositions, and deliverables for both marketed and pipeline assets, while also supporting business development via the confidential assessment of international price potential for acquisitions.

The Director provides critical strategic input to senior leadership for enterprise decision-making, is the custodian of price potential within their therapy area, ensures a balance of brand value, sales targets, and enterprise goals through proper governance, and ultimately recommends pricing decisions to senior management.

The role leads key financial processes—such as S&OP, annual planning, and long-range planning—and is deeply integrated with finance and commercial teams to inform pricing guidance, price reimbursement, and access status, all while maintaining close engagement with executive leadership across the organization. All responsibilities report into the Senior Director, Head of International Pricing, within iMAP.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach a team of Associate Directors to manage pricing governance for marketed and pipeline assets.

  • Develop and implement strategic pricing and access models to optimize asset value and patient access across international markets.

  • Shape price potential for pipeline assets using strategic pricing frameworks and advanced modeling tools to support launch, indication sequencing, and scenario analysis.

  • Be a core member of integrated Value & Access teams, providing direction for access strategy, payer value propositions, and critical deliverables.

  • Support business development by assessing international price potential for external acquisitions and portfolio planning (including NPV analysis).

  • Serve as a key strategic input provider for enterprise business decisions, working closely with senior leadership across the organization.

  • Ensure appropriate governance, balancing brand value, affiliate sales targets, and enterprise goals when making pricing recommendations and approvals.

  • Lead participation in financial processes (S&OP meetings, annual planning, long-range planning), providing analysis on price reimbursement, access status, and international price variances.

  • Ensure compliance with pricing practices, data handling, reporting, and harmonization across finance and pricing functions.

  • Develop, recruit, and retain a high-performing pricing team, providing technical and leadership coaching, managing workload, and ensuring proper resource allocation.

  • Build strong internal and external relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and serve as subject matter expert on strategic and operational pricing.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven track record and significant experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry and understanding of finance, pricing, health economics or market access, within the drug development and commercialization process is required, with at least 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated appropriate level of leadership behaviors and executive presence, this role requires high levels of competence, confidence, and credibility.

  • Ability to synthetize, critically analyze, efficiently communicate large volumes of information, develop identify risks, recommendations and implement solutions is required.

  • Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written and ability to consistently provide clear and concise written and verbal communication, excellent presentation skills.

  • Ability to manage workload to meet critical deadlines under challenging time constraints.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to make decisions without a full data set and deal efficiently and effectively with ambiguity and uncertainty.

Desired:

  • Prior line management, coaching and development experience.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in the following aspects:

  • Designing or implementing International pricing strategies and scenario assessments.

  • Designing and implementing integrated market access strategies and payer value proposition.

  • Experience interacting with P&R agencies and knowledge of top key markets health care systems and/or pricing regulations with a focus on our high impact markets of Germany, Canada, China, Japan alongside our large business unites in Australia, France, Italy, Spain & the UK) is highly desirable.

  • Understanding of Health Technology Appraisal and the fundamentals of Health Economics utilized in terming value of medicines from a payer viewpoint.

  • Ability to communicate value drivers supporting pricing initiatives and their impact on business; ability to communicate financial impact of pricing initiatives on overall business objectives are required.

  • Ability to understand data management and reporting with a basic awareness of the possible technology platforms and solutions that can be leveraged.

  • MBA, MSc or MPhil or PhD in Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Health Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Pharmacy, or any other related scientific field.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
