Description
This position entails maintaining and operating key infrastructure systems in a variety of locations. This position's major qualities, duties, and criteria are summarized below:
Exceptional communication and time management abilities.
Team members are expected to work efficiently and autonomously with little supervision.
Must be able to provide sound recommendations for solutions while adhering to established protocols.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, vendors, and suppliers is critical for success.
Strong knowledge of hyper-scale electrical and mechanical systems, as well as NFPA70e and OSHA laws specific to facilities and critical settings.
Capable of doing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and other infrastructure systems.
Responsible for the safe operation of electrical systems in environments with high availability, high risk, or high dependability.
Inspect and lead important equipment on a regular basis, responding to unusual or malfunctioning circumstances.
Respond rapidly to emergency circumstances that disrupt operations and work with other essential facility workers to make necessary repairs.
Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical system drawings
Follow all federal, state, and local standards for operations and workplace safety, including familiarity with safety procedures and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Must demonstrate a working knowledge of electrical, and life safety systems typically used in critical environments.
5 years of similar experience in a critical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Electrical graduate of the apprentice program or trade school preferred.
Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel, Word, and MAC.
Knowledgeable in energy management systems and in all building system operations, maintenance, and repair.
May be only maintenance staff members on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority or emergency situations (including overtime-type assignments); may require shift work and/or on-call duties.
Data Center environments, controls, power generation, UPS (uninterruptible power supply), STS (static transfer switches), ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch), batteries, critical facilities, troubleshooting, Electrical systems, electrical codes, Generators, and motors are all areas of expertise.
Ability to undertake physically demanding jobs, such as lifting goods weighing up to 50-75 pounds and Capable of scaling ladders of varying heights.
Use of suitable personal protection equipment (PPE) in varied situations, such as ARC Flash suits and coveralls.
Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner and responding to emergency calls.
Experience with industrial electrical systems and troubleshooting, installation, testing and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand, power, and precision measuring tools
Experience maintaining & operating critical infrastructure inclusive of UPS’s, PDU’s, generators, fuel storage, switchgear, transfer switches, static switches and leak detection systems
A keen understanding of the engineering design and operational aspects of Data Center critical infrastructure systems and equipment in order to recognize system issues and respond to operational and emergency situations.
Familiarity with HVAC and electrical controls installation, field devices and control panel layout
Competency in navigating and operating lighting control systems including Lutron, Enlighted, nLight and Wattstopper
Keen ability to troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a failure and take corrective measures
Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as VOM, amperage, power quality meters and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of installed electrical systems
Awareness of applicable regulatory codes per County, State and Federal electrical codes
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests with a constant focus on deadlines
Excellent organizational, documentation and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - the ability to distill a relatively complex
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $48.70 and $73.10/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
