Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Lead program definition, scoping, and execution of technical projects related to new Maps features, securing buy-in from stakeholders across the organization. Apply deep knowledge of GIS principles and technologies to define and refine requirements, assess risks, and perform data analysis to improve Maps data, tooling, and platform. Lead program execution using program management methodologies like (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) for developing and implementing strategic and tactical solutions with cross-functional teams, ensuring all aspects of the program are addressed. Set concrete goals, develop detailed plans, and motivate engineering and operations partners to achieve objectives within established timelines. Anticipate and drive alignment on priorities, proactively identify and resolve technological risks and potential problems. Lead the rollout of new processes and engineering practices for delivering new map data globally, driving efficiency and quality. Manage maintenance projects related to tooling and platform infrastructure that support Maps features and data products, ensuring stability and performance. Drive effective partnerships with engineering leadership and individual contributors to align on feature development and data delivery plans for each data/software release from a data engineering perspective. Foster effective cross-functional communication channels across the organization, both vertically (leadership and individual contributors) and horizontally (with peer teams). Provide clear, concise, and accurate information to multiple levels of management, maintaining transparency and accountability by using program management and collaboration tools. Drive schedules and roadmaps for Maps data engineering pipelines and platform teams in alignment with overall organizational goals, utilizing program management and collaboration tools such as Wrike, Quip, Omnigraffle, Apple Keynote, and Apple Numbers. Drive data analysis and visualization for reporting on program KPIs, data pipelines and QA processes. Utilize internal bug filing systems to ensure proper tracking and resolution of issues. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $200,733.00 - $258,600.00/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology Management, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
6 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
Shipping client applications (e.g., iOS, macOS) or complementary web or backend services.
Domain-specific knowledge of location-based services or GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and related software and tools, like ArcGIS, QGIS, or TomTom.
Incorporating program management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) to drive schedules and roadmaps of data engineering pipelines and platform teams.
Using program management applications and web tools (program management software such as Wrike, Asana, Quip, Slack, Confluence, or Bug reporting tools) to ensure cross-team communication.
Incorporating software development methodologies to roll out new processes and engineering practices for the delivery of new map data worldwide.
Preparing proposals and technical documents for new features (e.g., Proposals, Design Specifications, User Specifications, RCA, etc.)
Using data monitoring tools, including dashboards (like Tableau) for data analysis and visualization of data pipelines, and QA processes.
Troubleshooting product development issues and concerns using large-scale data delivery, including distributed data processing (Hadoop), databases (NoSQL or open-source databases like Apache Cassandra), software engineering, and statistics.
Using Agile Software development tools to evaluate various processes and tooling.
Using bug filing systems to ensure tracking and proper issue resolution.
