Description
Apple is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their Global Network Services (GNS) team. You will be responsible for maintaining the global backbone and internet peering infrastructure. You are involved in regular network maintenance, migrations, upgrades, and augmentations of the infrastructure that supports both internal and external customers. Additionally, you may occasionally participate in network designs, defining and developing toolings and automations to enable large-scale deployment and operations.
Minimum Qualifications
5 + years of network operations and/or network design background
In-depth experience in TCP/IP (v4 and v6), BGP and MPLS technologies.
Deep understanding of underlying LAN/WAN technologies and protocols.
Experience supporting large-scale peering/transit networks, with a sound knowledge of sophisticated traffic engineering and Internet routing policies.
Hands-on experience with carrier grade routers and operating systems.
Proficiency in MacOS, Linux, or variations of UNIX.
Working knowledge of DWDM Optical Transport technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
BS or equivalent preferred
Strong analytical and organizational skills, including confirmed abilities to adapt to multifaceted project environments, while able to lead multiple concurrent projects.
Extensive troubleshooting methodology and experience in an operational environment.
Strong software development skills, including Python programming and Ansible/Shell scripting is highly regarded.
Advanced industry network certifications preferred
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
