We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Equipment Engineer with a strong background in vacuum and RF systems to lead technical initiatives and mentor a growing equipment team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring equipment performance, safety compliance, and developing technical talent within the organization.

This is a hands-on, senior-level role that requires independent judgment, broad engineering insight, and a passion for solving complex equipment challenges. The ideal candidate will contribute to continuous improvement, foster a culture of safety and accountability, and bring a deep understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of equipment engineering.

Description

  • Lead and support equipment engineering activities, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of complex systems.

  • Apply deep expertise in vacuum systems, RF power delivery, and associated subsystems to support production, R&D, or customer environments.

  • Serve as a technical mentor and resource for engineers and technicians, helping to build a strong, capable equipment team.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on equipment upgrades, process support, and root cause investigations.

  • Drive and support equipment safety programs, ensuring procedures, training, and operations meet all compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Document and communicate technical findings, best practices, and project progress clearly and consistently

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in equipment engineering or technical support roles, with knowledge of vacuum and RF-based systems

  • Background in industries such as semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, R&D, capital equipment, or related fields

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and lead by example

  • Experience mentoring or managing technical personnel, with a passion for team development

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and process-related systems

  • Commitment to safety-first thinking and continuous improvement

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Familiarity with a variety of process or manufacturing equipment

  • Experience working as both an equipment provider and end user

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,200 and $268,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
