DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Hardware, Software, Test Engineer to join our team specializing in engineering for our Cummins’ business in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong Technical Skills: Proficiency in PC/Mobile software design and construction, product platform planning and architecting, product verification and validation management, and system requirements engineering. These skills will ensure you can develop, verify, and validate high-quality tools and systems.

  • Systems Thinking: The ability to define, analyze, and understand complex systems and their interactions. This will help you predict system behavior, devise modifications, and ensure optimal performance.

  • Effective Communication: The capability to develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to different audiences. This will facilitate collaboration and ensure that all stakeholders are aligned.

  • Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: The aptitude for making good, timely decisions and managing complexity. This will enable you to navigate challenges, drive results, and maintain progress even under tough circumstances.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required. Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred

Additional Details:

This is a role within the electronic Tools (eTools) organization of Accelera. This group is tasked with creating and maintaining the Service eTool used for all eMobility products (called Accelera Diagnostics). In the development cycle of the tool, we have a need for an individual that will create, coordinate, maintain, track, manage and troubleshoot all electronic hardware, software, and systems needed to simulate real vehicles in a laboratory environment to allow for software testing and software development of the electronic service tool. This individual will also be involved with test verification (pass/fail criteria) of the tool in a lab environment and also in field test. The successful candidate should be capable to diagnose connection, communication, error issues with electronic systems (modules, code, harnesses) and assist others to work through and determine root cause of issues. They should also be able to work with and support a team and help others with less technical understanding as product and system and software issues are worked through to resolution. This is not an entry level position and will require the individual to be self-directed in resolving issues as you will likely be the top technical expert in this area of HW and lab equipment.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
