American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading payment card issuer for corporations and small businesses with products and services to help them run and grow their business. Within GCS, the GCS and Enterprise Solutions team leads product development on a portfolio of products including consumer and commercial banking, commercial card, marketing capabilities, partner integrations, and the virtual payments platform. The team also leads product design and research across GCS as well as business development initiatives to support our banking scale.
Power the Future of Banking at American Express in the Banking Center of Excellence. American Express is committed to growing consumer and commercial deposits, and we’re not slowing down. As we scale our banking operations to new heights, we’re building the next generation of digital capabilities that meet the highest standards of compliance, automation, and innovation. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a Senior Digital Product Manager to join our Banking Center of Excellence — a high-impact team shaping the future of how banking operates at scale. In this role, you’ll take the lead on one of the most critical initiatives in the Bank: building a next-gen platform to support FDIC insurance calculation and bank failure simulation across all deposit accounts. You’ll also help automate fraud risk reporting, streamline reconciliation, and launch other game-changing capabilities that directly support the Bank’s continued growth. This is your chance to work at the intersection of product, data, technology, and risk management — where every capability you launch will strengthen our regulatory foundation and unlock new opportunities. To boot, you will work in a fun, collaborative team of other product developers dedicated to Banking.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Demonstrate a high degree of accountability for every capability that you manage, and bring many cross-functional partners along with you in the development process. By ensuring that key capabilities are clearly documented, solutioned, tested, and deployed, you will directly strengthen the operating environment of the Bank as it continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
Own and lead large-scale, enterprise-wide technology initiatives that are transforming the future of banking operations
Partner with Compliance, Fraud Risk, Controllership, Ops, Engineering, and more to turn complex challenges into scalable solutions
Craft clear, compelling requirements using user stories, wireframes, and process flows to align cross-functional teams
Drive end-to-end product delivery — from idea to launch — ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
Break down silos, align on priorities, and solve blockers with agility and creativity
Keep partners and leaders in the loop and teams on track by tracking progress, risks, and outcomes
Maintain a dynamic product backlog and guide prioritization using data and business impact
Manage 1 direct report
Occasional domestic travel
Minimum Qualifications:
5 years of digital product management and cross-functional project leadership, including in whitespace
A knack for breaking down complex processes and turning them into user-first, scalable products
Comfort working with data (tables, flows, ingestion methods), and an eye for structure and governance
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
Ability to influence without authority
An understanding of financial and customer data, and how banking systems fit together
People leadership experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on US Bank Regulatory projects
Experience with financial data transformation
Experience with data governance
Experience with query languages (e.g. SQL)
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
