Apple’s Wireless System Engineering team is looking for an engineer to work on radiated system characterization across different connectivity technologies (WLAN, BT, UWB, GNSS) for Apple’s wireless products.
Description
- Validating OTA test cases for different carrier and industry conformance requirements in certification test setups.
- Translating industry conformance/regulatory/carrier specification requirements into test cases. Coordinating with regulatory compliance/carrier management teams to ensure product validation covers all certification/performance tests.
- Define and execute validation plans for custom SW features.
- Debugging marginal/failure tests with multi-functional teams like RFHW/Antenna/ Product Design/EE/etc. and drive design changes to address issues.
- Maintain test setups via periodic checks, calibration, etc.
- Drive planning and implement final certification testing at 3rd party test labs for PTCRB/CTIA/CWG testing.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in EE or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
Working experience of antenna design and tests, anechoic chambers, and RF test equipment. Hands-on is a must.
Proven understanding in RF component characteristics and behavior.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask across various subject areas and tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in EE or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
Understanding of PHY Layer and MAC/application layer is highly desired, proficiency at MATLAB simulations.
Solid understanding of at least one wireless technology including IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth, GNSS, LTE, GSM, UMTS, or CDMA.
Programming/scripting skills would be a plus.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
