Job Description
Role Number: 200632898-0836
Summary
Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Bring your passion and dedication to this job, and there’s no telling what you can accomplish.
We are looking for a software engineer to develop the foundational networking and device connectivity technologies that power seamless experiences for millions of users across every Apple platform: iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. This is a fast-paced team where focus can shift with new data, so we need someone who thrives on tackling the biggest problems, is inspired to invent new solutions, and has an unwavering passion for quality.
Description
Our team is at the heart of Apple's ecosystem. We build Network Framework, the core communication layer that bridges Wi-Fi, Cellular, Ethernet, USB, and Bluetooth with composable protocols to provide a consistent interface, as well as the UI for nearby interaction experiences.
If you've ever used Safari, AirDrop, shared a Wi-Fi password, unlocked your Mac or iPhone with your Apple Watch, used Handoff, or seamlessly set up a new iPhone, HomePod, or AirPods, you've experienced our work firsthand. Our technology enables the "magical" moments that users love.
In this role, you will design, develop, and enhance the critical frameworks that other teams at Apple rely on to build their features. You'll collaborate closely with a huge number of teams, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Cellular, iCloud, Human Interface Design, HomePod, and Apple TV, to invent, shape, and influence the next generation of connected experiences. Beyond Apple, we drive industry-wide impact by participating in standards organizations like the IETF and W3C to define the future of protocols like HTTP, TLS, and QUIC.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years experience
Exceptional software design and development skills in C, Objective-C, or Swift.
Deep understanding of peer-to-peer or client-server architectures and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience instrumenting complex systems with telemetry and using data to drive decisions.
Self-directed, proactive, and creative problem-solver.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment.
Genuine passion for building high-quality, impactful products.
