Job Description
The Manager, BTS Controls is responsible for leading the design, development, and governance of AbbVie’s consolidated technology controls framework. This role ensures alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and corporate policies while integrating harmonized controls into the Technology Solutions Lifecycle.
You will partner with business and technology leaders to understand strategic objectives, assess compliance impacts, and identify opportunities to improve processes through technology and control optimization. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions, and comfort operating in a highly cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of a consolidated and harmonized technology controls framework. Ensure alignment between regulatory obligations, corporate policies, industry standards, and technology delivery practices.
Partner with business and technology teams to analyze business processes, define requirements, and identify opportunities for technology-enabled control improvements.
Manage change control processes for technology controls and evaluate downstream impacts to systems, processes, and evidence requirements.
Measure and report on control effectiveness; identify non-compliance and drive remediation activities. Liaise with control domain owners, regulatory stakeholders, Quality, Security, and Risk Management to ensure compliance across control environments. Integrate control requirements into the Technology Solutions Lifecycle, engineering processes, and delivery pipelines.
Lead testing, verification, and validation of control requirements and design.
Build strong relationships with BTS groups, business units, auditors, and technical delivery teams to ensure coordinated execution and sustained compliance.
Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership to support continuous improvement and technology enablement.
Qualifications
Required:
Exercises latitude in the approach to problem solving.
Determines and develops approach and solutions to problem.
Preferred:
Experience with IT control frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001, SOX, etc.).
Experience integrating controls into SDLC, Agile, or DevOps environments.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in compliance, risk management, cybersecurity, or quality/regulated environments.
Ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
