Description
The Apple Video Services engineering team is responsible for building the backend services critical to the Apple TV app, which is the central hub to watch various pieces of content (Movies, TV shows, Sporting events) including those from Apple streaming service: Apple TVYou will be working on a team valuing collaboration, design discussions and constructive code reviews. A successful candidate will be someone willing to learn the domain while challenging the existing. As a member of the team, you will be encouraged to propose, design and implement solutions, while potentially taking ownership of critical components of the stack. You will commit yourself to writing high-quality, well-tested and maintainable code. You will consider exploring new technologies and apply creative solutions to problems.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ Years of relative industry experience
Deep knowledge of programming in Java
Ability to communicate effectively, demonstrating problem-solving skills and a strong willingness to learn
Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns
Knowledge of caching technologies, key/value stores and message queues
Advocate for test automation and software engineering best practices
Client-Server protocol & API design skills
BS or higher in Computer Science or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent data modeling skills.
Deep understanding of distributed systems.
Experience dealing with high throughput, low latency java services.
Keen understanding of observability and how it helps resolve production problems.
Experience with eventually consistent databases.
Javascript and UI skills for building tools.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
