How will you make an impact in this role?

The AIM (Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement) team – a part of GCS Marketing– is the analytical engine that enables Global Commercial business portfolio of American Express. Accelerating growth momentum, increasing profitability, and powering up our value proposition are key objectives for this organization. It is the analytical engine that powers profitable business growth through consultative and innovative solutions across GCS. AIM in India is a high performing team and strong partner to the Global Commercial Marketing business. The team enables GCS Marketing business by providing actionable insights to drive business strategy and growth.

This Director role would be based in New York and would be focused on driving Sentinel Analytics for Lifestyle gaming across channel / products. The incumbent will be responsible for driving innovative analytical solutions and strategies that helps in gaming prevention thereby driving profitable offer efficiency for the commercial business. S/he will be challenged with designing and creating world class prospect marketing analytics by leveraging machine learning and advanced methodologies.

A very important focus for the role shall be leveraging data science, quantitatively determining the value, deriving insights, and then assuring the insights are leveraged to create positive impact that cause a meaningful difference to the business. This role will serve as a key interface between various stakeholders – the functional channel owners, the business partners, and end-users of data science driven targeting & personalization solutions.

Responsibilities

  • The position will be a part of AIM team supporting Sentinel and responsible for increasing offer efficiency by focusing on Gaming across the customer lifecycle.

  • The successful candidate will partner with the functional partners in US as well as various cross-functional teams including Finance, Modelling, Product, Risk, Capabilities to drive solutions for gamer prevention.

  • In this role the Director will be responsible to oversee a high performing team of Managers/Sr Managers; and indirect reports. The incumbent will also work closely with other Sentinel team focused on acquisition gaming.

  • The successful candidate should have a proven track record of striking the best balance between providing deep analytical solutions, people management, strategic thought leadership and managing relationships to influence strategies and business outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD/master’s degree in quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics and Economics) or MBA with quantitative background with experience in Analytics

  • Good People Management skills, comfortable leading from front through ambiguity and creating structure and strategies in white space.

  • Understanding of experimental test vs control and read statistical reports

  • Strong relationship management skills with a proven track of positively collaborating and influencing internal/external partners

  • Strong analytical skills: Applying analytical thinking to diagnose business needs and to establish analytical hypothesis and solutions. Drive insights and recommendations through analytical solutions

  • Team player: Able to collaborate with partners and team members to define key business objectives, and to align on solutions that drive actionable items

  • Passion for data science and machine learning: Proven track record of independently developing novel analytical solutions optimizing business processes or product constructs

  • Knowledge of Hive, Python, PySpark, SQL enabling effective team management encompassing data manipulation and statistical modeling/data-mining techniques

  • Strong communication skills enabling ability to interact effectively with business leaders and to present structured and compelling messages addressed to various levels within the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with acquisitions analytics, statistics and measurement analytics

  • Background in Commercial Data and Products preferred

  • Work experience in relevant Industry & Domain is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of statistics preferred.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
