Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and develop product experiences related to Apple Maps services and navigation experiences for Apple’s products and ecosystem, like iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac and Vision Pro. Create new products and extend existing products through design exploration, iteration, and technical prototyping. Create complex interactions based on a high-level design concept of how a user should interact with and use Apple Maps. Illustrate a large number of use cases and conditions, resolve dependencies, work with and push against technical constraints of Apple’s platforms to expand what the Apple ecosystem can offer. Create Maps and Navigation experiences for iOS, Mac, PC, Web, Watch and CarPlay. Give keynote presentations and maintain up-to-date files and uniform naming conventions on a range of topics including spatial datasets, curating map content, and using cases and conditions, requiring an in-depth understanding of these fields to create accurate design concepts. Utilize expertise with localization design and visual arts including texture work, photography, and 3D work to improve existing patterns and find solutions for new features and use cases. Extend design platforms across existing platforms by designing new features and patterns, and solve complex problems like how people can safely navigate through the world on foot, bicycle, public transit or motor vehicles.
40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Design, Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

• 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:

• Solving complex problems including scaling design patterns and interactions across different products and platforms.

• Creating design prototypes to explore novel ideas, testing unique interaction paradigms, and finessing motion details.

• Creating design solutions using ecosystem patterns, and Human Interface Guidelines.

• Presenting new design solutions for features to large audiences and key leadership stakeholders.

• Creating design documentation for Engineering colleagues to refer to while building new features.

• Using a suite of third-party tools like Slack, Box and Quip for communicating with team members, organizing files, and documenting designs.

• Using design, prototyping, and presentation tools like Sketch, Figma, Principle and Keynote.

• Knowledge and understanding of foundational Engineering concepts, including best practices for building design components in code, and scaling components for different languages and accessibility use cases.
