Description
As an EMC Design Engineer, you will evaluate, design, and optimize EMC solutions for
Apple products. You will be responsible for ensuring that products meet EMC
requirements and regulations. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with
innovation—conducting design reviews to assess potential risks, creating
comprehensive test plans, and analyzing results to guide problem-solving.
You will think systematically about products as integrated designs, understanding how individual components and subsystems contribute to overall EMC performance.
You will work collaboratively with design teams, test engineers, and cross-functional partners to develop and implement solutions.
You will contribute to your team's collective knowledge by sharing best practices and lessons learned across projects, supporting first pass success on future designs.
Your analysis of test data and design reviews will inform recommendations to peers and management.
Minimum Qualifications
BSEE or equivalent experience
Prior experience and/or education in EMC, ESD, RF and signal integrity areas
Ability to build effective working relationships with other engineers and cross-functional partners
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Willing and able to support occasional international travel to other Apple sites, vendors, and contract manufacturers
Preferred Qualifications
MSEE / PhD with a specialization in electromagnetic fields and/or applications
Experience with electromagnetic modeling and simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, ADS and PowerSI
Experience in one or more of the following fields: EMC, ESD, RF/Antenna, Signal Integrity and Power Integrity
Detailed understanding of design and testing of ITE products for EMC compliance and deep knowledge in EMC/ ESD debug techniques
Experience with Matlab and scripting for test automation and data analysis
Proficient in schematic and layout review of PCBs for emissions and immunity control
Able to perform CAD review of enclosures, connectors, and cables for EMC compliance
In-depth knowledge of worldwide EMC regulations, test methods, and standards, including EN55032, EN55035, IEC61000 series, and ETSI 301 489 series
Experience with EMC lab equipment such as spectrum and vector network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and transmission line pulsers (TLP)
