Job Description

The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) organization is responsible for managing relationships with millions of Merchants and Partners around the world that facilitate American Express acceptance and enabling the day-to-day operations of our company’s payment network.

The U.S. Merchant Marketing (USMM) team sits within the newly created Merchant Marketing and Analytics organization and is focused on driving merchant activation and vibrancy through best-in-class marketing to reinforce the value of American Express acceptance. The team is responsible for driving sustainable growth through customer, partner, and product insights that inform the merchant value proposition, channel strategy, and investment optimization, while leveraging the full range of enterprise assets and partnerships for GMNS customers.

Responsibilities

This position sits on the U.S. Merchant Marketing team and provides an exciting opportunity to strengthen marketing skills, gain external partner management experience, and work with highly collaborative teams across USMM and other business units. The Sr. Analyst will play a key role in developing multi-channel go-to-market strategies, leading campaign execution, and implementing innovative ideas into new and existing projects to drive incremental performance that will help reach USMM goals.

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of core Growth Marketing team campaigns (e.g Merchant eNL, payments & B2B lead gen. curriculum, trigger campaigns).

  • Partner with key stakeholder teams to deliver a compliant and best in class marketing experience and ensure value messaging is unified across USMM / reflective of the team’s priorities.

  • Monitor, report and analyze campaign results, providing recommendations to enhance future campaigns.

  • Stay up to date on external trends and identify opportunities to strengthen our campaigns through new Test & Learn opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and 2-3 years industry relevant digital marketing or digital agency experience

  • Proficient understanding of marketing tactics and performance metrics, especially email marketing; familiar with implementing campaigns across channels

  • Strong organizational and project management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities while still meeting tight timelines

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with a knack for distilling down complex ideas into customer-friendly language.

  • Campaign execution experience (email & digital) a plus.

  • Have a “can do” attitude and motivated by challenging the status quo

  • Team player and collaborator who enjoys learning new skills and can adapt changing tasks/processes
