The Creativity Apps team is looking for a Software QA Engineer with a background in photo and video editing to contribute to the development of innovative tools for creative professionals, video makers, and visual storytellers. It requires a highly proactive individual with strong creative, technical, and analytic skills and passion for new technologies related to computer vision/on device machine learning.
Description
This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong technical, problem solving and communication skills, and the willingness to work in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with other team members to develop requirements, identify appropriate testing implementation processes, and methodologies. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and with making educated, critical judgments in the absence of complete requirements. We capture, monitor, and analyze test results to ensure the features work end-to-end for customers. Therefore you must be effective and systematic at managing priorities, and communicating progress as well as risk through regular status updates. Additional responsibilities will include design and implementation of test plans and test cases. You should have a proven ability to ramp up quickly on both existing and new technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a Software QA Engineer
Significant experience testing mobile and desktop applications and frameworks
Understanding of the software development lifecycle, SQA testing methodologies, terminology and processes such as planning, requirements analysis, testing and deployment
Proven bug detection, isolation, and regression skills
Able to extract user scenarios from software feature descriptions and requirements, translating them into effective test plans and cases
Proficient in digital photography and video, with in-depth knowledge of image editing software
HDR and SDR knowledge, including color processing and media formats for photo and video
BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience
Preferred Qualifications
Meticulous, analytical, methodical and creative problem solver committed to driving quality forward
Thrive in a collaborative organization, that's fast-paced and dynamic, and can clearly communicate technical problems to software teams and management
Proficient at balancing multiple efforts simultaneously and meeting strict deadlines
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
iOS and macOS familiarity
Swift, Python, or JavaScript scripting knowledge
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $140,700 and $234,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
