Summary
Join Apple's growing cellular wireless design team and help push the boundaries of what's possible in RF integration. Our team drives all aspects of cellular transceiver silicon development, with a focus on highly integrated, efficient designs that transform the user experience at the product level.
As a Cellular RFIC Transceiver Validation Engineer, you'll play a critical role in validating RF cellular transceiver SoCs operating at advanced technology nodes. Collaborating closely with RFIC circuit designers and system integration engineers, you'll ensure our cellular systems deliver exceptional performance that powers billions of connections worldwide.
Description
As an RFIC Validation Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing test strategies, developing validation frameworks, and ensuring cellular SoCs meet rigorous design specifications. Your work will include:
• Interpreting design specifications and schematics to develop comprehensive test plans
• Using specialized test platforms and automation frameworks to validate RFIC performance
• Developing and maintaining test scripts in Python, MATLAB, or C++ to work seamlessly with embedded firmware
• Characterizing and optimizing RF performance across diverse operating conditions
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive silicon bring-up, debug issues, and ensure product quality
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of validation methodologies and tools

Minimum Qualifications
- MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Strong verification, problem-solving, and debugging skills with a track record of identifying and resolving complex issues
Hands-on experience bringing up and testing RFICs, including system integration, characterization, and optimization
Proficiency in end-to-end RF measurements and block-level characterization (LNAs, Mixers, Amplifiers, PLLs, VCOs, high-performance ADCs, and DACs etc)
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams (IC Design, RF Systems, Firmware, and Hardware)
Experience with bench automation and scripting languages such as Python or similar programming languages
Familiarity with lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, phase noise analyzers, oscilloscopes, and DMMs etc
Understanding of board schematics and layout; experience defining hardware board requirements for lab validation
Experience with Digital Signal Processing verification
Experience supporting ATE engineers and mass production
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,300 and $181,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
