Join this team, and you’ll collaborate with engineers across Apple to develop architectures, frameworks, and toolchains for hardware accelerators. In this highly visible role, you will be working with cross functional teams in Hardware Technology and Software Engineering to develop key technologies for future Apple products.

Description

In this role you will be developing architectures, frameworks and toolchains for hardware accelerators targeting media applications, including camera, video and display processing. You will collaborate with multiple teams exploring new architectures, algorithms, toolchain and compiler optimizations, while meeting power/performance/area goals for hardware implementations. Responsibilities will include:

• Architect flexible hardware accelerators for media applications

• Develop automation toolchains for efficient development of accelerators

• Develop architectural and performance simulators

• Work with cross-functional team to define, architect and implement application specific accelerators

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree

  • Coding skills including C++, Python and/or Verilog

  • Computer architecture knowledge

  • Design automation knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or PhD degree

  • 20+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience architecting hardware for media applications

  • Experience building hardware simulators and models

  • Experience with front-end and back-end VLSI development flows

  • Knowledge of compiler LLVM and tablegen

  • Communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and partners

  • Ability to innovate and drive results on a tight schedule

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $197,400 and $360,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
