Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Improve the expressiveness, performance, and developer experience of using Domain Specific Languages embedded in the Swift programming language to enable declarative APIs including SwiftUI, Swift Charts, and Swift Regex using existing techniques like functional programming, as well as discovering and applying new solutions. Develop new algorithms and architectures using Swift, C, and C++ to improve the open-source Swift compiler. Perform code reviews for pull requests submitted by other software engineers and open-source contributors. Plan upcoming features with other teams, set milestones, and determine tasks and priorities. Conduct thorough testing, both manually and by maintaining automated testing infrastructures. Author technical specifications and documentation. Utilize strong object-oriented design skills, coupled with a deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms. Craft multi-functional requirements and translate them into practical engineering tasks. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 - $220,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Experience and/or education must include:

  • Using Domain Specific Languages embedded in the Swift programming language, including knowledge of SwiftUI, Swift Charts, or Swift Regex.

  • Utilizing C++, Python, Swift, or LLVM, including improving Domain Specific Language debugging experience in the LLDB debugger.

  • Utilizing Objective-C, Swift, AppKit, or Interface Builder in the Xcode Integrated Development Environment.

  • Authoring and maintaining automated tests and testing infrastructure.

  • Utilizing Swift, UIKit, XCTest, and Xcode Simulator to author and execute unit tests and UI tests.

  • Utilizing git, GitHub, and Markdown to track project changes and perform code review.

  • Designing and maintaining user interface frameworks and libraries written in Swift.

  • Designing and implementing APIs in accordance with Swift, SwiftUI, and Swift Standard Library’s design principles.

  • Using C, C++, Python to implement and improve a compiler for a programming language.
