Within Apple Acoustics, our Acoustics Electrical Engineering team helps define, design, and integrate high quality audio electronics into all Apple products. We are a diverse team of electrical engineers with a passion for audio and music. We work daily with multi-functional teams to solve tough, dynamic engineering challenges.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Audio Hardware Engineer with a background in analog, ASIC, and/or audio electrical engineering to help take our products to the next level. Could this be you?
Description
As an Audio Hardware Engineer here at Apple, you will define, architect, design, implement, and integrate audio subsystems in Apple products.
Primary duties include: qualifying best in class audio silicon, system board schematic design and layout, prototype bring up and debugging, production manufacturing and test support, hardware debug, functional and performance verification, SW/FW verification and signal characterization.
The qualified applicant will possess sound EE fundamentals with a focus on analog and solid grounding on digital electronics. The applicant will be familiar with the audio design of portable low-power products, preferably with experience in a consumer electronics environment dealing with high-volume and high-quality products. Additionally, the preferred applicant will have some audio engineering experience with fundamental knowledge of signals and systems.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience as an audio/analog electrical systems engineer
Experience in designing in a fast paced high volume consumer electronics environment
Phenomenal teammate - able to work with non-audio team members who are unfamiliar with acoustic designs
Most of our engineers have advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics or an equivalent field, but if you’ve followed a different path to expertise in audio / EE / acoustics we still want to hear from you!
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge in silicon design and manufacturing (power supply, audio circuit design, amplifiers)
Expertise in prototyping circuits and products in a lab
Basic scripting for test automation and data analysis and visualization for reporting.
Experience with Microphone ASIC technologies
Hands-on experience in designing, validating, or failure analysis of electro-mechanical systems. Experience with acoustic transducers (micro-speakers, receivers, MEMS microphones) will be highly useful.
Familiarity with sensing technologies and relevant electrical interfaces such as: PDM, differential analog, I2C, TDM
Knowledge in SW drivers, DSP preferred
Experience with Audio Precision and audio analyses tools
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $128,300 and $193,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
